Take Time to Slow Down

I am always looking for ways to become a better guitarist. One useful website I discovered discusses ways to improve alternate picking. This type of picking has always been difficult for me. But the site suggested that I slow down when trying a new technique. This is an issue that I have always had. I am in such a hurry to try something new that I do not take the time to really learn how to do it. I try a few times and give up. I took the slowing down suggestion and applied it to alternate picking. I am still not fast, but I am actually learning how to do this right.
