Bookkeeping for the Computer Age

In the past, bookkeeping was done with two pencils, one red, one black, and a sheet of paper.  In today’s modern work environment, bookkeeping has moved into an entire technical world.  Accounting software can now link directly to your bank account and automatically reconcile the account with the most recent credits and debits.  Charts and graphs of expenses and pr oft can be created and analyzed for hours on end.  Customer accounts can be audited and notices of overdue payments sent electronically through email.  No longer does a bookkeeper merely need to know how to add and subtract, they must be computer savvy, as well.
