The cricket club’s drinking fountain
On Sunday I went to my local cricket club to watch the first team, who are top of the league play against the team one place below them in 2nd. Just from looking at the fixture I could tell that it was going to be a tough game for my club, and on a boiling hot day it was going to be even more tiring for the teams. The match began and it was a hard fought competition with both sides desperate for the win. Overall I think my club deserved the victory, and sure enough as the final wicket fell they won the match. They were cheered off the field and on their way to the dressing room nearly every player had a drink of water from the drinking fountain. This just shows how hard the hot conditions were to play in, I had never seen the fountain used so much!
